Screenwriting
Learn anywhere. Write for the screen anywhere.
A screenplay is not a novel with dialogue. It is a blueprint for a film. This course trains storytellers to write cinematically: think on screen.
What you learn: Visual storytelling — thinking in image, action and sound. Screenplay format — scene headings, action, dialogue, structure. Three-act structure — setup, confrontation, resolution. Character development — goals, motivations, flaws, change. Dialogue — writing speech that reveals character and moves the story. Show, don't tell — communicating through action rather than exposition.
Story development: Logline. Treatment. Outline. Draft. Revisions. Final screenplay.
Tools: Final Draft. Celtx. Arc Studio.
Method: The three-act structure. Save the Cat. Dan Harmon's Story Circle.
What you leave with: Professional-standard scripts. A portfolio of written work. Skills applicable to screenwriting, directing and content creation.
Visual Narrative Structuring
How image, sound, sequence and rhythm shape the audience's experience.
This course explores how films are structured visually — how shots, sequences, sound and pacing combine to tell a story. Students learn to think like filmmakers: what the audience sees, what they hear, and why.
What you learn: Visual language — shot design, composition, movement. Sequence and rhythm — how editing shapes meaning. Sound and image — how they work together. Narrative structure — how stories are built on screen. Visual storytelling — communicating without dialogue.
What you leave with: A stronger understanding of how films work visually. Skills applicable to directing, editing and cinematography.
